There is some mixed news today from Wisconsin’s latest unemployment report.
May numbers from the Department of Workforce Development show unemployment rates in both the city of Manitowoc and Manitowoc County rose last month, compared to April.
The city jobless figure increased from 2.3 to 3.1 percent while county numbers went from 2.1 to 2.7 percent.
DWD Secretary-designee Amy Pechacek said statewide, “Unemployment rates surpassed or tied record lows for the month of may in more than half of Wisconsin’s counties and in half of the state’s metro areas.”
