Manitowoc Lincoln High School junior Noah Wech was named to the Honorable Mention list on the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association All-State team.
Wech was honored as a pitcher after posting a 6-3 record for the Ships with a 1.17 ERA this spring.
Junior Keagen Jirschele of Kewaunee also earned an honorable mention as an infielder along with Ashwaubenon’s Boone Kirst in the DH/Utility category.
Among area players, Bay Port junior lefthander Ethan Plog, who compiled a 7-0 record and a microscopic 0.17 ERA, achieved the highest status in post-season awards after being voted Third Team All State.
The WBCA also announced its Academic All-State team for players having a GPA of 4-point-oh or higher and being named 1st or 2nd team all-conference.
Lakeshore area players honored included Mishicot’s Kaden Kowalski and Kewaunee’s Payton Kohnle.
