A very popular local event is in danger of losing permission to continue.
The Cool City Classic Car Show every year has included the Cruise from southern Manitowoc to Central Park in Two Rivers.
This year the permit for the event was almost denied because of drivers doing burnouts along the route.
Organizers are asking the public to avoid signage or any other encouragement of burnouts or smoke shows.
Police departments in both cities will be enforcing local ordinances and issuing citations to participants and spectators they see behaving dangerously.
Large numbers of people line the route of the cruise every year and the Car Show Committee is asking the public to help so that this event can continue.
The cars will begin their trip to Two Rivers at 6:00 this evening, starting at the UW Green Bay Manitowoc Campus.
