The Badger Carferry will soon resume overnight trips across Lake Michigan. The Lake Michigan Carferry says after a three-year hiatus, they will be bringing back what they call doubles. Beginning this Thursday, July 6th the Badger will be departing Ludington, Michigan at 8:45 PM Eastern time and departing Manitowoc for the return trip at 1:30 AM Central time. This is in addition to the regular daytime crossing and will only be offered on the evenings of Thursday through Sunday. The extra sailing will be available only through August 6th.
Shelby Soberalski, the Director of Marketing and Sales for Lake Michigan Carferry, says the overnight sailing offers passengers a unique opportunity to travel and view the night sky, stars and sunsets as a part of the route to their destination. This is the 70th year of operation for the Badger.
