A Manitowoc man is facing charges after he allegedly threatened to cut off a woman’s head.
Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 900 block of Raton Court at around 9:00 p.m. Monday (July 3rd) in response to a disorderly conduct call.
The caller reported that a man was threatening a woman with a knife.
When they arrived, witnesses reported that the suspect had been drinking all day, and told a woman inside “I am going to chop your head off and gut you like a deer.”
Multiple officers then made entry to the home with a ballistic shield and weapons drawn.
When they found the man, they ordered him to the ground and took him into custody without further incident. While being detained, the man told officers that he loves the victim and would never hurt her.
The knife in question was said to be a 35-inch sword which, along with a black sheath, was submitted into evidence.
The 59-year-old man is facing charges of Endangering Safety by Use of a Dangerous Weapon and Disorderly Conduct, each with Domestic Violence enhancers, as well as Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
