Burger Boat Company in Manitowoc was honored this Spring in Milwaukee for its 160th anniversary.
Burger, which was founded here back in 1863, was congratulated for the milestone in late May by the Wisconsin Marine Historical Society during a dinner at the South Shore Yacht Club.
Jim Ruffolo and Ron Cleveringa, along with their wives, attended as representatives of Burger Boat Company and accepted an Achievement Award at the event.
The WMHS also presented a brief history of Burger to their membership, along with a letter of congratulations from their board stating “On behalf of the Wisconsin Marine Historical Society, congratulations on this, the 160th anniversary of the founding of the founding of Burger Boat. Your company’s outstanding integrity, leadership and craftsmanship has made the name Burger known worldwide. Best wishes for continued success as you carry on the Burger legacy for another 160 years!”
Meanwhile, in news from the Burger shipyard, construction is progressing on two 180-foot Motor Yachts.
The company says while the first is sold, the second one is available for sale.
