The iconic Kids From Wisconsin will appear in Manitowoc this Friday night at the Capitol Civic Centre.
It’s part of the 55th Anniversary STARSTRUCK Tour, according to Interim Executive Director/Choreographer and Manitowoc native, Peggy Morgan Strimple.
She tells Seehafer News the show is paying homage “to our nation’s famous awards shows that celebrate accomplishments from the stage, screen and beyond. There will be musical selections from Broadway, for the Tony awards, Oscars for top Hollywood movies, and top entertainers from the Grammy awards.”
Peggy, who is a Roncalli High School graduate, performed on stage with the Kids From Wisconsin in 1987, and, now her daughter Morgan is with the troupe.
She said for that she’s so proud.
“It’s kind of surreal to watch the show as a whole as much as I can and every once in a while she catches my eye and I’m just like oh my gosh sometimes I forget she’s up there,” she explained. “I’m kind of going between both roles this year as being proud of the troupe as a whole working for the organization, but also as a proud mom. It’s very overwhelming and we’re so blessed.”
The show cast consists of 22 singers and dancers and a 14-piece band from across the state and they’re on a 9-week tour to present 58 high-energy performances including the State Fair.
Strimple said tickets for the 7:00 o’clock show tomorrow night can be purchased at the Capitol Civic Centre by calling the box office at 920-683-2184 or online at CCCShows.org.
