Bail is set at $75,000 cash for a Manitowoc woman who has been officially charged with First Degree Reckless Homicide in a drug overdose death this spring.
Sylvia Richmond appeared in Manitowoc County Circuit Court for a bail hearing Friday afternoon.
Officers were called to a residence on Green Street in Manitowoc back in May where a deceased individual was found in a bathroom.
Richmond admitted to using heroin and fentanyl earlier in the day Authorities found the drugs and pieces of drug paraphernalia in the bedroom and Richmond was taken into custody.
It was determined that the drugs came from Richmond’s personal stash and was originally charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Fentanyl with intent to deliver and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping,
The new charge was filed upon completion of the autopsy. Conditions of bail are that Richmond is to maintain “absolute sobriety” and have “no contact” with any known drug dealers or users.
She remains in The County Jail with an initial appearance scheduled for July 24th at 1:30.
Meanwhile, a settlement conference on the original chages with The District Attorney’s Office is pending.
