The City of Manitowoc announces that a partial closure of the Lincoln Park roadway will be in effect as of Friday for reconstruction.
Director Of Public Infrastructure Dan Koski says the portion affected will be between the parking lot at the main entrance to the zoo and heading northwest to Cabin 2.
It will be open during construction and motorists are asked to use the entrance off of Lincoln Boulevard on the south side of the park.
Access to Cabin 1, the hexagonal open-air shelter, the tennis courts, ball diamond and fieldhouse won’t be affected.
Meanwhile, Koski says visitors to the zoo can gain access from the Reed Avenue entrance but keep in mind that construction is taking place on Reed Avenue so there is only one-way traffic currently headed eastbound.
Work is expected to take approximately two weeks to complete, weather permitting.
