Are you a fan of learning history and the lifestyles of people of the past?
The Manitowoc County Historical Society has plenty of events this upcoming month that are open to the public.
On August 3rd, they’re hosting a family blacksmithing event, which welcomes a parent/grandparent to work with a child on small, hands-on projects such as small dinner triangles and hooks.
Another blacksmithing event on August 29th focuses on items for your home, and each participant will make two decorative projects to take home.
The annual Village Fair will take place on August 12th and 13th where guests can spend the day with residents of Pinecrest Village in preparation for their village fair (based in 1900).
A parade will take place on both days and feature the Buffalo Bill Wild West Show and the Arena Extravaganza each day complete with exhilarating stunts.
As a bonus, throughout the month of August, members of the Historical Society are permitted to bring two guests at no cost.
