Game-1 of the Shoreland League semifinal playoff series between Manitowoc and Casco went down to the wire last night.
The Bandits survived a 9th-inning rally to edge the A’s 5-to-4 at Municipal Field.
Luke Mandich struck out the last batter with the potential tying run at 3rd to end the game.
In fact, Casco had a runner at 3rd base with nobody out but couldn’t get him across the pay station.
Carter Stebane led the offensive attack by going 3 for 4 including a double while Reese Berg went 2 for 4.
Jaicee Foster also drove in a pair of runs for the Bandits, who can clinch the series and move on to the championship round with another win Wednesday night, this time at Casco Village Park starting at 7:30 p.m.
Game 3, if necessary, would be played in Manitowoc Thursday evening.
