Two Rivers Football is ready to come out on top this year.
With new players and old, the Two Rivers Football team is sure to have an interesting season with a plethora of players to support it.
While on WOMT’s Sports Talk program with Two Rivers head Football coach, Kevin Shillcox, we talked about how the team dynamic has positively impacted the team’s ball game this last season, and how that sequence is sure to continue this year.
“Our whole team is always close-knit, we pride ourselves in that, with a lot of work put into that, that our older guys take care of the younger guys,” the Raider’s leader explained. “Those guys are taught how to do it, and it really proved last year down the stretch… great group of kids, they all get along and they have fun, and that’s what makes my job easy, when it’s fun for them and we’re winning.”
Coach Shillcox went on to speak about Two Rivers’ undefeated EWC conference title last year during the 2022 season, the first for Two Rivers in 32 years, and how special that was for the team and the community.
“It’s been a long time since Footballs seen one, so to get that with the group of kids we had and the effort that they put into their 4 years was very rewarding,” he said. “This will be our last go around in the EWC…, because then we’re going to the Northeastern after that, so we look to exist in good fashion.”
Two Rivers’ first game will be a non-conference game at home on Friday the 18th against Bonduel.
