Lakeshore CAP in Manitowoc is starting another housing program, effective September 1st.
Director Colleen Homb tells Seehafer News that “Permanent Supportive Housing” is for people who are considered chronically homeless by federal definition.
“They have been without a shelter for a good amount of time or they’ve been unhoused for a number of instances in the last few years,” she said. “There’s some other criteria as well.”
Homb says Lakeshore CAP would hold the lease with the landlord and they will place participants in the units.
“The goal is to help those people find self-sufficiency,” she explained. “It might be that they are placed in a unit through permanent supportive housing for awhile and then we help to get them into low-income housing at a different site.”
Lakeshore CAP is looking for landlords who are interested and willing to partner with them.
