A 37-year-old Manitowoc man is confined to the County Jail on a series of criminal charges stemming from a pair of violent incidents recently.
Tony C.A Hughes was ordered held on $25,000 cash bond last Thursday afternoon by Manitowoc County Court Commissioner Patricia Koppa.
Hughes allegedly threatened or assaulted his 34-year-old live-in girlfriend on two separate occasions, in late July and this past Wednesday.
He’s facing charges of strangulation, 2nd-degree recklessly endangering safety, substantial battery, false imprisonment, intimidating a victim, disorderly conduct-domestic violence related, and felony bail jumping.
According to police reports, the man allegedly assaulted the female in Washington Park while she was riding a scooter, on July 23rd.
This week, he reportedly threatened her with a butcher knife and choked her.
Conditions of bail are that he have no contact with the victim, a witness or their residence.
And, he has 48 hours to establish a new address.
Hughes is scheduled to make an initial appearance before Circuit Judge Mark Rohrer this afternoon (August 14th) at 1:30 p.m.
