Mishicot Football is excited to change the pace of their season this year.
With upperclassmen who have been starting varsity since they were freshmen, the team is sure to be experienced and well-rounded.
As we spoke with Mishicot’s head Football coach, Kevin Fix, we talked about how the team dynamic has been this year, with a talented Sophomore class on the rise and experienced Juniors and Seniors to lead them.
“These seniors, a lot of them have been starting on varsity since they were sophomores, a lot of guys are going into their third year of knowing what varsity football is like,” the coach told Seehafer News. “We have a real talented Sophomore class here too that are going to be filling in a lot of roles as well. Practice has been really good, and guys are leading by example and getting out here and doing the right things.”
Senior Adam Backus had a few words to say about the team’s excitement for this opening week against Reedsville.
“I haven’t seen the team with this kind of energy going into a week one since I started playing football,” he said. “I think the confidence here is better than I’ve ever seen it”.
The team works well together, Senior Logan Marquardt explains.
“There are no selfish players at all,” he noted. “I think everyone is out here to play, and it’s the first year we’ve had heavy seniors that really want to win.”
Mishicot’s first game is tonight (August 18th) at home against Reedsville.
