Our area is expected to be incredibly hot today, so many people will likely be trying to stay inside.
Wisconsin Public Service has a few tips and tricks to help keep your home cool without costing you a ton on your energy bill.
First, close the blinds and keep the sun out. Additionally, seal up any cracks and gaps around windows, doors, and siding with caulk and weather stripping.
This keeps cool air in and hot air out.
Instead of cranking up the AC, maybe use some fans.
They use less energy, and circulating air makes rooms feel cooler and distributes air more evenly.
However, you should remember to turn off the fans when you leave the room.
If you are going to be outside, make sure you are drinking water, and taking plenty of breaks, especially if you are working.
