Wisconsin has been prohibited from utilizing the national voter registration form following a recent ruling by a judge.
The decision, handed down earlier this week, declared that the form solicits information that exceeds the state’s legal requirements while simultaneously omitting essential information mandated by state law.
One significant concern is that the national form inquires about voters’ racial identity.
It’s important to note that the judge’s ruling pertains solely to future voter registrations.
Individuals who have previously registered using the national form will not face removal from Wisconsin’s voter rolls.
