A Manitowoc County meat processor won grand championships for bacon and summer sausage at the Wisconsin State Fair.
Newton Meats in Newton had their items sold at the Governor’s Blue Ribbon Meat Products Auction benefiting the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation.
The bacon sold for $3,500 and the summer sausage sold for $2,750.
The meat processor also got an honorable mention for their ring bologna, which sold for $2,000.
The 4-H Foundation raised a total of $105,000 for conferences, teaching material, and workshops for 4-H youth.
