Students from First German Lutheran School visited the historic North Breakwater Lighthouse to kick off their school year.
45 students from the school took a trip to the 105-year-old site along with Vice Principal Philip Miller and other staff members.
The tour was presented by Manitowoc Sunrise Rotary and was specially developed for students.
The owner of the lighthouse, Phil Carlucci has been working with Manitowoc Sunrise Rotary since 2019, dedicating them as the keeper of the lighthouse.
Both parties have made it their responsibility to have as many people see the inside of the lighthouse as possible, in order to accomplish this, they have been working with the Wisconsin Maritime Museum, to add photographs and signage that will help guide individuals along their tour.
