Manitowoc Lincoln had a good showing on Saturday at the Bill Dawson Cross Country Invitational in Gurnee, Illinois.
Athletes ran a 3-mile race which is slightly shorter than the normal 5K distance competitors race in Wisconsin.
The Lincoln boys took 10th and the girls finished 8th in the 21-school invitational.
The Ships girls had 3 runners finish among the top-30 led by Natalie Portmann in a time of 19-minutes, 10 seconds followed closely by Kendall Schmitz at 19:14 and Sarah Bolchen at 19:26.
In the varsity boys race, Lincoln’s Caleb Jatczak wound up 19th overall and earned an individual medal for placing 20th out of 140 runners.
Coach Mike Bubolz said Palatine (Fremd) was the boys team champion while Crystal Lake South captured the girls crown.
Up next for the Ships will be the Manitowoc Len Nikolai Invite this Saturday at Meadow Links Golf Course, beginning at 9:30.
