The leaders of the Unified School District of De Pere are debating on potentially building a new high school.
The District met Monday evening where they discussed the idea as overcrowding is becoming an issue.
According to reports from the meeting, three schools in the district are the main focus of overcrowding, as Foxview Intermediate is over capacity, De Pere Middle School is at its recommended capacity, and De Pere High School is nearly full.
A task force charged with looking into the project suggests the proposed new high school be big enough to support 1,800 as enrollment projections show an increase in students on the horizon.
The project is still in the early planning stages and more details would need to be ironed out before anything moves forward.
