There are still many unanswered questions surrounding the events at Case High School in Mount Pleasant yesterday morning, which prompted the school to initiate a lockdown.
According to Mount Pleasant Police, they received a call from the school at approximately 8:45 a.m. reporting an “altercation” occurring on the second floor.
Initially, officers believed that one of the students involved in the altercation had left the school premises and returned with a weapon.
However, Mount Pleasant Police later determined that this information was not accurate.
Three individuals were taken into custody as a result of the incident, although the specific reasons for their detention have not been disclosed.
Officials from the Racine Unified School District acknowledged that the lockdown was a frightening experience but stressed their commitment to ensuring the safety of students.
While students were eventually allowed to return to their classes, some opted to go home for the day.
