The Manitowoc Lincoln High School Tennis team is sending three flights to Thursday’s WIAA Sectional meet at Fox Cities Racquet Club in Appleton.
According to Ships head coach Stephanie Henschel, number 1 singles player Olivia Minikel, Jordin Popp at #2 singles, and the #1 doubles tandem of Taylor Peterson and Zylia Kleinfeldt all went undefeated in their subsectional matches Tuesday at the Sports Core in Kohler.
The top-seeded Minikel won 6-1, 6-0 over Grace Johnson of West De Pere, Popp defeated Ali VandeHey of Kaukauna 6-0, 6-1 and Arianna Bauer from Oshkosh North by the same score, while the Peterson/Kleinfeldt combo prevailed over Julia Bock and Maya Walker of Oshkosh North 6-1, 7-5.
Meanwhile, Kohler has won the EWC Girls Tennis championship.
The Blue Bombers are league champions after recording a perfect 8-and-0 mark in conference matches this Fall.
Following Kohler in the standings is Sheboygan Falls at 7-and-1 and Plymouth at 6-and-2.
