Prosecutors have rested in the homicide trial of 21-year-old Joshua Walcott of Manitowoc.
But according to his attorney, Walcott could be testifying in his own defense Thursday morning.
He’s accused of shooting and killing Malachi Moore in Two Rivers in 2021.
He’s also been charged with bail jumping and two counts of 2nd-degree sexual assault of a child.
District Attorney Jackie Labre called 22 witnesses and showed 40 exhibits over the last three days.
Two counts of attempted 2nd-degree sexual assault to a child and exposing a child to harmful material were dropped Wednesday (October 4th) by Judge Jerilyn M. Dietz.
Walcott’s Defense Attorney Matt Last called a witness Wednesday afternoon to talk about the house Walcott and two other people came over to after the shooting.
Camden Jones, the witness, says Walcott was emotional while another person was not acting like his normal self.
Closing arguments are still scheduled for Friday.
