The unofficial start of Halloween begins in Manitowoc with the 7th annual Windigo Fest this weekend.
The Halloween festival started in downtown Manitowoc but has since moved to the Expo Center at the Manitowoc County Fairgrounds.
Event Organizer Dawn Dabeck says there will be plenty of bands and sideshow performers.
This year, Dabeck says there will be a celebrity guest.
“Douglas Tate, who’s been in many many movies,” Dabeck says. “Among them is Halloween Kills, where he played Michel Myers. And he was in Freddy Vs. Jason, so he will be doing a photo op in his Jason Vs. Freddy costume holding Freddy’s head.”
Opening “Scaramonies” begin tonight (October 6th) at 5:00 p.m. at the Expo Center at the Manitowoc County Fairgrounds.
A band called the Goth Rockers will start with the Star-Spangled Banner.
Along with other bands, there will also be a presentation from Medium Sara Beaupre and two paranormal experts from the Netflix Series 28 Days Haunted.
endors will be set up all weekend. Events on Saturday include the costume contest at 7:00 p.m. with the winner getting $1,000.
Other live performances include Jezzibel, Windig Dancing Witches, and Carli the Pumpkin Carver.
