A virtual public meeting through the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources will discuss possible changes for bait harvesting.
The proposed rules would revise certain wild bait harvest permit specifications and regulations for licensed bait dealers, as well as regulations for the harvest of minnows for personal use from certain waters that are currently closed to all minnow harvests due to a deadly fish virus.
The possible rule change would also create a permit instead of current written agreements with the DNR to allow the collection of white sucker eggs for rearing as bait.
The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 2nd at 5:30 pm on Zoom.
