A man has been charged with two counts of 2nd-degree sexual assault after having sex with an underage person twice.
This past Sunday, Manitowoc Police were called to Holy Family Memorial Hospital for a sexual assault report.
Police say the 18-year-old and the victim exchanged Instagram accounts earlier that day and the victim then ran away and was picked up by the suspect in a grey truck.
The victim told police that both times they had sex were consensual and that they didn’t consume drugs or alcohol.
However, after being dropped off at a Kwik Trip by the suspect, the victim cried because they realized they messed up.
The mother of the victim decided to press charges because her child is under the age of consent in Wisconsin which is 18.
Police later learned the suspect lived with his uncle whose grey truck was involved in an accident in 2022.
After police got a video from a Walgreens that apparently showed the suspect and victim buying condoms, the victim showed where the suspect lived, and he was brought to police headquarters for questioning.
Police say after talking with the suspect, he was arrested on the sexual assault charges and taken to the Manitowoc County Jail.
