An incident involving a man brandishing a firearm at his neighbor prompted the initiation of a lockdown at Ladysmith Schools.
Law enforcement reported that this unsettling event occurred at approximately 3:30 yesterday afternoon.
According to Ladysmith Police, 57-year-old Corwin Blackwell allegedly aimed a rifle at his neighbor who was in the midst of mowing his lawn.
This incident unfolded in close proximity to Ladysmith Elementary School.
Although school hours had concluded, the school authorities opted to implement a lockdown protocol for any remaining individuals inside the building.
Following the incident, the police took Blackwell into custody, levying charges of first-degree recklessly endangering safety against him.
