Manitowoc Mayor Justin Nickles did not present his 2024 city budget last night.
He explained that there needs to be more discussions before it’s presented.
There were also several debates on different items during yesterday’s (October 16th) common council meeting.
The council approved renewing two contracts for two firefighters who live outside the city’s 25-mile range limit in 7-3 votes.
They also had a long debate about compression and an employee policy manual update that was later tabled.
Eric Nycz was promoted to be the city’s full-time attorney by an 8-2 vote after he was appointed to be the interim in May this year.
The council also approved updating the lighting fires ordinance to include more devices used for outdoor burning.
A special meeting will be held next Tuesday to present the city’s budget.
