Several awards were given out during Ascend Services’ Employer Recognition Reception last Wednesday (October 18th).
The event was attended by Ascend staff, area businesses, area business partners, and Ascend clients and families.
The evening featured a social hour in which Ascend clients, a staff member, and their employers gave testimonials about their experience with the Ascends Workforce Solutions Program.
The testimonials featured clients from each of the three programs. Kyle, who works with Woodland Dunes in the Integrated Employment Program, Patrick who works in the Prevocational Program at Ascend and Seng who is on a Mobile Work Crew at Parker Hannafin.
All three also participate in each of the other programs as well.
The evening ended with an awards program in which several groups won awards like the city of Manitowoc, Formrite Companies, and Kaysun Corporation for supporting the organization’s mission.
Hanson Global, Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry, and Parker Hannifin won the Most Empowering Award.
And groups that won the Inspiring Work Culture Award included Gunderson Uniform and Linen, Manitowoc Ice Pentair, and Alpha Baking Company.
