Progress is being made regarding the upcoming Manitowoc County Courthouse Dome Repair and Replacement Project.
County Executive Bob Ziegelbauer laid out the estimated timeline while on WOMT’s Be My Guest Program.
“We’re planning to go ahead with the windows and the HVAC equipment in the next year and a half,” he explained. “Then we’re planning to get bids for the dome replacement. We’ll go out for bids early in 2025 and get the bids a couple of months later and start the project in mid-2025 or late 2025 and into 2026.”
Ziegelbauer added, “The operating budget does contain any expenditures for revenue for the dome repair and replacement project. That will be done in a separate resolution probably in December.”
The County Executive states they will borrow the money in stages for the next few years with plans to pay it back in approximately 25 years.
The estimated cost is $25 to $30 million.
Bids on the windows and HVAC system are expected to go out sometime in early 2024.
