Bail is set at $800 signature bond for a 22-year-old Manitowoc man after allegedly trying to run away from police at a Kwik Trip store.
Daniel J. Matthews Jr. is charged with Resisting arrest and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping. Police responded to the 8th Street location for a call of a man stealing food.
They located Matthews eating by some wood with several food wrappers strewn on the ground.
He went inside the store and fled when pointed out by a store employee, only to be apprehended a short time later.
Matthews allegedly resisted attempts to get him into the squad car but was eventually subdued and taken into custody.
No condition(s) of bail were imposed by the court and Matthews is due back in Manitowoc County Circuit Court for an Initial appearance November 30th.
