Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry CEO Sachin Shivaram has been named the next chairman of the Governor’s Council on Workforce Investment.
Tony Evers appointed Shivaram because of his “commitment to workforce development in his leadership of WAF, which continues to innovate in training workers from diverse backgrounds.”
Shivaram says it’s an honor to serve on the Governor’s Council on Workforce Investment as we identify strategies and opportunities across multiple agencies to help prepare Wisconsin’s workforce in the 21st century.
S. Mark Tyler was the chairman before Shivaram took over.
Tyler said it’s been a privilege to serve on the council and I’m thrilled to know that important progress to remove workforce barriers will continue with Sachin’s leadership.
Shivaram will continue to help the council extend some $136 million given by the federal government every year to operate programs that serve some 40,000 people with access to training for in-demand careers and efforts to connect employers with job seekers.
