As they are in the midst of their biggest fundraiser of the year, the Salvation Army of Manitowoc County is also setting up their Christmas Toy Shop.
Every year, the Salvation Army collects toys for the shop, which will be available for families in need so everyone can have a merry Christmas.
Captain Jenny Moffit tells us they have a lot of children ready to come in.
“We will serve around about 1,000 children this season,” she estimated. “Families have preregistered already, but if they still need assistance, they need to call us after December 12th, and we will definitely get them some items for their Christmas.”
Moffit assured Seehafer News they would not turn anyone away, saying, “We always try to help them out, even as we get a little bit closer to that Christmas time.”
If you would like to donate toys, Moffit says they are quite low on teen gifts, specifically for children between the ages of 13 and 17.
Distribution is scheduled for next week, and anyone who wishes to volunteer is encouraged to call the Salvation Army at 920-684-7117.
