Milwaukee’s police department pays tribute to Officer James Nowak, who succumbed to injuries sustained in a crash in Oak Creek on a Sunday night.
At 30 years old, Nowak had served with the Milwaukee Police Department since 2011 and was the former partner of Officer Peter Jerving, killed in the line of duty in February.
The circumstances of the crash, occurring as Nowak headed home from a tavern, are under investigation.
The police have not disclosed whether alcohol was a factor.
