Several players from Northeast Wisconsin have been rewarded for their individual and team success by being chosen to the 2023 AP All-State Football Team.
The selections, released Wednesday afternoon, include Two Rivers Senior Chase Matthias, named to the Offensive First Team as an all-purpose player and High Honorable Mention as a running back and inside linebacker.
The six-foot, 220-pound Matthias rushed for over six thousand yards and scored more than 100 touchdowns in his Raider career. He finished second to younger brother Max in total tackles in 2023.
Max, a 5 foot-10 inch, 200-pound sophomore, was selected to the all-state second-team defensive unit. The EWC Defensive Player of the Year has already twice recorded 20 tackles in a game in his career.
Joining The Matthias brothers is Senior quarterback Justin Klinker, who was named All-State Honorable Mention.
He completed nearly 70 percent of his passes this season for just shy of 2,000 yards, 24 touchdowns and only 2 interceptions leading Two Rivers to back-to-back undefeated EWC Conference championships in 2022 and 23.
The Reedsville Panthers are represented by senior Camden Dvoracek and junior Parker Maney.
Maney accounted for nearly 3,000 yards from scrimmage and 35 total touchdowns, while Dvorachek caught 43 passes for over 700 yards and 8 touchdowns while totaling 110 tackles, second to senior Adler Strenn’s 118.
Both were given honorable mention status for leading The Panthers to The Big East championship and The Final Four in The Division Seven Playoffs.
Also receiving High Honorable Mention recognition is Mishicot senior defensive back Adam Backus.
