The Manitowoc United JV hockey team held with a very talented Shawano squad last night for a while, but ended up falling 6-2.
The Hawks started the scoring just two minutes into the contest, but Reed Neuser would get his second goal of the season on the power play with assists from Benson Dickrell and Miles De Kok to tie it back up a few minutes later.
Shawano would find the back of the net while shorthanded, but Manitowoc’s Jacob Wallander would tickle the twine on the powerplay with an assist from Aragon Jack to end the first period tied at 2.
The Hawks would take over from there, scoring three times in the second period and one more in the 3rd to secure the win.
Manitowoc goalie Dan Karlin registered 44 saves on the night as United falls to 0-6.
They will be back in action Saturday as they welcome the Fox Cities Stars to the Manitowoc County Ice Center at 6:00 p.m.
