Bail is set at $5,000 recognizance bond Friday afternoon for a 29-year-old Manitowoc man who’s accused of attacking his roommate because he didn’t like the smell of the breakfast being made.
Ryan J. Packer is charged with First-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety and Strangulation/Suffocation, each with Domestic Enhancer.
Meanwhile, Packer’s girlfriend, 42-year-old Kristina A. Duckworth, also of Manitowoc, posted $500 cash bail and is charged with Simple Battery with a Domestic Violence Enhancer.
The victim told police that Packer also broke a coffee table and choked them. When he broke free, Packer allegedly grabbed a knife and swung it at him.
Duckworth allegedly struck the victim with a leg from the table before leaving the residence.
Police spotted both walking down Custer Street early Thursday afternoon, and they were taken into custody without further incident.
The lone condition of bail for Packer is that he has “no contact” with the victim of the residence, and an initial appearance is scheduled for January 8th at 1:30 p.m.
As Duckworth posted bail prior to a hearing, she adhered to abide by standard bail conditions imposed by the court that include not committing any further crimes and appearing on all scheduled court dates.
