More development is coming to the Two Rivers Woodland Industrial Park.
The city council approved providing a cash grant of up to $450,000 from one of their TIF Districts to assist Athens Development, the former Truss division of Braun Building Center, for a new 28,000-square-foot facility.
Paul Braun says he’s very excited that his company is getting the opportunity.
“We’ve manufactured roof trusses since sometime in the middle fifties,” he explains. “This is going to give us an opportunity to expand that and include floor trusses and eventually build wall panels. All products that are significant for the professional builder in Manitowoc County, Kewaunee County, Door County, etc.”
He also says the project will keep the company viable, make it more valuable to its customers, and help it grow.
The specifics about when the project would start weren’t discussed, but Braun says eight employees will be working at the new facility when it opens, but it could be up to twelve.
City Manager Greg Buckley says the entire project will be about a $2 million investment when it’s done.
