By next year, hunting with an air gun could be legal in Wisconsin.
That’s according to State Assemblyman Paul Tittl, who’s introduced a bill to allow it.
Right now, air guns are usually used to shoot small games like rabbits, but newer air guns can be used to shoot bigger animals.
“The air guns that I’m talking about are included in a picture we’ve seen with people that took down a cape buffalo with an air gun,” he said. “So, it is quite interesting.”
Tittl says the gun would give hunters another option to go out hunting, especially since there has been a decline in people going out hunting and a decline in how many deer have been taken.
“We’re trying to do everything we possibly can,” he explained. “It’s not going to be the answer but it’s part of the answer to get more people involved.”
He says the guns are quieter, and the ammo isn’t that expensive.
