Two car crashes in the past two days in Manitowoc County have killed three people.
According to the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office, on Christmas Day (December 25th) at 2:45 pm, deputies and EMS were called for a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 43 and Fischer Creek Rd in the Township of Centerville.
A 2004 Chevy Suburban and a 2016 Chevy Tahoe were traveling on the interstate when the Suburban struck the Tahoe, causing both vehicles to lose control and hit guardrails before they both came to a stop.
Two people in the Suburban, a 38-year-old woman and 71-year-old woman from Green Bay, were pronounced dead at the scene, while the 38-year-old male driver from Green Bay and a juvenile were taken to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Tahoe, a 60-year-old Manitowoc man, and his 66-year-old female passenger from Two Rivers were also taken to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
This, unfortunately, was not the only crash that happened on I-43.
The Sheriff’s Office also reports that a 19-year-old man from Sheboygan is dead after a separate fatal crash that happened this morning (December 26th) on the interstate just north of CTH XX.
The vehicle the man was driving hit a guardrail, entered a ditch and hit a tree.
The names of the people aren’t being released at this time, and the crashes remain under investigation.
