A local state forest will participate in a statewide event on New Year’s Day.
First Day Hikes will take place across several state parks, including Point Beach State Forest just north of Two Rivers.
The three-quarters-of-a-mile self-guided hike will happen on the Swales Nature Trail on New Years Day from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Interested hikers can meet at the lodge in the park at 9400 County Highway O.
If you don’t have a yearly sticker required to get into the park, you will have to pay to get inside.
All-terrain wheelchairs will be available, and you can bring your furry friend along as long as they are on a leash.
