The driver of one of the cars involved in a fatal two-vehicle crash on Christmas Day in Manitowoc County has been identified and charged.
38-year-old Phillip Slezewski of Green Bay has been charged with two counts of operating a motor vehicle while operating with a suspended license causing death, two counts of operating a motor vehicle while operating with a suspended license causing great bodily harm, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, Possession of THC, and violation of Child Safety Restraint.
Sheriff Dan Hartwig tells Seehafer News that vehicles driven by Slezewski and 60-year-old Mark Vinton from Manitowoc were traveling northbound at I-43 and Fischer Creek Road.
Slezewski struck Vinton’s vehicle, resulting in both units losing control and entering the median.
Vinton’s Chevrolet Tahoe struck the end of the guardrail and came to a stop in the southbound lanes of travel, while Slezewski’s Chevrolet Suburban struck the guardrail and came to a stop between a guardrail and a concrete pillar.
Two passengers in the Suburban -38-year-old Heather Arcaro-Slezewski and 71-year-old Claire Slezewski, both of Green Bay died. There’s no word on Vinton’s condition.
Phillip Slezewski remains in The Manitowoc County Jail on $300,000 cash bail.
