A 38-year-old Green Bay man who was behind the wheel of one of two vehicles involved in a fatal Manitowoc County crash on Christmas Day is scheduled to appear in court on January 8th for his initial appearance.
Court records show that Phillip Slezewski was due in court Wednesday but had his appearance adjourned until Monday with no specific reason (s) given.
Slezweski, driving with a suspended license, was traveling northbound on I-43 and Fischer Creek Road when his vehicle struck another driven by 60-year-old Mark Vinton of Manitowoc.
The impact caused both units to lose control and enter the median, with Slezewski’s Chevrolet Suburban striking a guardrail, eventually coming to a stop between the guardrail and a concrete pillar.
Two passengers in the vehicle, identified as 38-year-old Heather Arcaro-Slezewski and 71-year-old Clarice Slezweski, both of Green Bay, died from injuries sustained during the crash.
Phillip Slezewski remains in The Manitowoc County Jail in lieu of $300,000 cash bail.
