Terry J. Tuschel, age 70 of rural Manitowoc, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Froedtert Holy Family Memorial Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Terry was born on October 23, 1953 in Manitowoc, son of the late Ervin A. and Marie (Heinrichs) Tuschel. He grew up in the town of Liberty and graduated from Valders High School in 1972. On June 8, 1979 Terry married the former Marilyn L. Drumm at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Madsen Tiling and Excavating, Rusty Strauss Excavating and the Manitowoc County Highway Department. Terry later purchased the Griffin Meat Market in Valders and ran Tuschel’s Meat Market. He also worked part time for Port a Pier and Bob Braun Excavating. Terry was a member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, the Izaak Walton League of America Chapter #138 of Manitowoc and the Sheboygan Walleye Club.
Terry enjoyed woodworking, helping on his children’s farms, gardening, walleye and pan fishing and processing venison. His greatest joys were his grandchildren’s activities and deer hunting and fishing with his family especially up at the family cottage in Lakewood.
Survivors include his wife: Marilyn Tuschel, rural Manitowoc; his three children: Jeff Tuschel, Valders and his special friend: Judy Lutz, Sarah (Michael) Hackmann, rural Manitowoc, Melissa (Chad) Hackmann, Valders; two grandchildren: Alex and Brynn Hackmann; four sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law: Judy Fuerbringer, Manitowoc, Lynn Drumm, Manitowoc, Carol (Arvid) Green, Albertville, MN, Roger (Debbie) Drumm, Green Bay, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Ervin A. and Marie Tuschel; one brother: Ervin L. Tuschel; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Jerry and Elaine Drumm; two brothers-in-law: Glenn Fuerbringer, Donald “Butch” Drumm.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, 3209 Meadow Lane, Manitowoc. The Rev. Stephen Melso will officiate with cremation to follow and burial of his cremated remains in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, town of Liberty at a later date. Relatives and friends may call at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, 928 South 14th Street, on Friday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Saturday at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
