A Manitowoc state representative is giving credit to the snowplow drivers of Manitowoc County.
Republican State Representative Paul Tittl says the roads were clear when he and his wife were driving on I-43 heading toward Sheboygan.
But when he crossed the Sheboygan County line, things changed.
“Manitowoc County, clear pavement, nothing on it. Sheboygan County, ice,” he described while on WOMT’s Be My Guest program.
Eventually, Tittl says he decided to turn around and go back.
He gives kudos to all the snowplow drivers who had to deal with a winter storm with a lot of snow and then fridged weather.
But he said he’s not sure why Sheboygan County didn’t do a better job when they bill the state for the work, they do take care of the interstate.
Snowplow crews cleared snow for several hours for the first winter storm, which dumped about 8-12 inches between Friday and Saturday.
