On Saturday, February 10th, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the Manitowoc County Historical Society invites everyone to partake in a day of winter fun at Pinecrest Village.
Visitors will have the opportunity to experience a thrilling Sleigh Rally, where horse-drawn sleighs will dash through the course, and visitors can vote for their favorite one.
Afterward, guests can warm up with a hot drink in the Two Creeks Town Hall and even take a ride down Pinecrest Hill on their own sled.
Historically, sleighs were not just a mode of transport in winter but also a smoother and easier way to navigate the snow-packed roads.
The jiggling of sleigh bells often found on horse-drawn sleighs wasn’t just for festive decoration but a safety measure to alert others of the silent sleighs gliding over the snow.
The Sleigh Rally will be a trip down memory lane, taking guests back to the time when life was simpler.
The admission fee is $14 for adults, $13 for seniors, $10 for youth aged 4-17, and free for children under 4.
Members of the Manitowoc County Historical Society also have free admission.
Tickets can be purchased on arrival or pre-purchased.
