Three men were recognized last Friday (January 19th) for being selected to the 2024 Wall of Fame.
John Lallensack was a standout player for Lincoln’s basketball program, leading the Ships to a 22-3 record and first WIAA State Championship in basketball for LHS.
His younger brother Larry Lallensack was at Friday’s basketball game between the Ships and Ashwaubenon to accept the award.
John would later go to UW Oshkosh to help the Titans finish third in the NAIA Tournament as a senior.
He would later be drafted by the Chicago Bulls in the 12th round of the 1968 draft. A father and son duo were also inducted into the Wall of Fame.
Don and Eric Fogltanz both played multiple sports but excelled in track and field.
Don remembers his time at the school, “primarily going to state, teammates, winning the state championship with the team in 1980,” he explained. “And the other sports as well. I was lucky enough to have excellent coaches and excellent teammates.
He’s a three-year letter winner and two-time state qualifier in the long jump and is also a state record holder in the indoor high jump.
His son Eric also attained excellence in track and field.
He was a state qualifier in the 110-meter-high hurdles and was a WIAA state champion and FRCC champion in the 300 intermediate hurdles.
He would later participate in track and field at UW Stout and Iowa State.
The most exciting thing at ISU was the Olympic tryouts.
“I started out as a freshman going to Stout, and that was always the goal,” he stated. “It was the six-year build-up to make that happen, so just being able to accomplish that ultimate goal was absolutely the best thing about going to school there.”
The three received a plaque, and their names will be enshrined on the newly remodeled Wall of Fame at Lincoln High School for eternity.
