The Chamber of Manitowoc County is trying to get more people interested in healthcare.
Executive Director Abby Quistorf said on WOMT’s Be My Guest program that the chamber is going to launch a healthcare bus tour in February.
The group partnered with Holy Family Memorial, Aurora Healthcare, Lakeshore Technical College, and the Northeast Wisconsin Education Center to take 60 high schoolers to learn about the programs each group offers.
Quistorf says this was something the chamber wanted to do, but the pandemic put it on the back burner.
“It’s a great way to show students the careers that are here,” she explained. “And not just in healthcare, there are administrative opportunities at any of these facilities. They need dietary workers. So, there is a large range of opportunities at these facilities.”
She says the chamber is very excited to partner with the organizations to put it on.
