The city of Two Rivers is getting a new fire truck.
The city council approved the purchase of the new truck for about $840,000.
Fire Chief Dave Murack says this new fire pumper truck is replacing one that’s been in service for more than 30 years and will keep the city safe because their second pumper truck has had to go for maintenance multiple times.
City Manager Greg Buckley says the money to pay for the new pumper truck would have to be borrowed.
“That borrowing could be done either in 2026 when we anticipate that the engine will be delivered, or it could be split between 2025 and 2026,” he told Seehafer News.
Council President Adam Wachowski expressed his frustration with how quickly the city will purchase the new fire truck after the ladder truck was replaced only two years ago.
Other council members agreed but said that they would support the purchase because of the need.
